At Auld Reekie Lodge
Walleye fishermen will have lots of action fishing Walleye on our main lake, Gowganda, or on one of our great Walleye lakes nearby.
  • Stumpy Lake - Walleye Only. Stumpy is a very good Walleye lake. Years ago it was nothing but a river however due to the installation of a hydro dam, Stumpy lake was born. Stumpy gets its name honestly due to the thousands of trees that still remain rooted to the bottom of the lake. These trees make excellent fish structure however they also make for many snags so bring lots of jigs!!! You can access stumpy with your own 4x4 vehicle, however, be warned the road is very poor. You can also boat up the east branch of Gowganda Lake and then portage 1 km to Stumpy or you can use our Truck Shuttle and we will take you in and out for only $30.00 per person. The shuttle leaves at 9:00 a.m. and returns 5:00 p.m. There is one 16’ boat available on Stumpy Lake.

  • Wapus River. Pike and Walleye Combination. This river offers 12 miles of water to fish. Species offered here are Northern Pike, Walleye and Small Mouth Bass. It is accessible by your own vehicle. There are two 16’ boats available there.

  • Obushkong Lake - Northern Pike and Walleye. is approximately 10 miles long and is a combination of lakes and rivers. Northern Pike and Walleye are the species offered here. This lake is accessed by driving your own vehicle which is approximately 5 minutes down Edith Lake road then boat across Edith lake to the Obushkong portage point. Then walk to Obushkong lake (approx. 5 minute walk. There are two 16’ boats there.
