Package Price: $1675.00 per person per week, Canadian funds!

Bare Bones Black Bear Hunting
Package Price: $925.00 per person, per week, Canadian funds!
This hunting package is custom designed for those hunters whom are interested in a more basic bear hunt.
Here you will receive the same great service and pre baited stands. However you will be responsible for your own licensing as well as preparing your own meals.
Package includes:
- Seven nights accommodations in our beautiful housekeeping cottage.
- Guide that boast over twenty years experience.
- Active bait sights and tree stands provided.
- Cold storage for any killed animals
- Skinning butchering and meat wrapping provided for you.
- Unlimited use of our fishing boats, live bait and all gas is included at no extra charge.
- 2007 hunt dates from August 18th through October 1st.

Fins And Feathers
All Inclusive Package Price: $132.00 per person, per night plus tax Canadian funds!
Our area is already famous for its excellent fishing but did you know that we have an enormous population of grouse as well? They truly are just about everywhere you look so if you enjoy hunting as much as fishing why not come visit us in the fall? Take advantage of some great small game hunting, excellent fishing and the beautiful fall colors
Price includes:
- Accommodations in our suites
- All meals and snacks
- Unlimited use of our fishing boat and motors, live bait and all gas is included at no extra charge.
- Briefing of local trails and hunting areas
- 2007 hunt dates from September 22nd through December15th.
- Add a Yamaha 4x4 rental A.T.V to this package for as little as $795.00 per week.
- Our success rate is over 80% and our sighting rate is 100%
- Wooden Stands used for Riffle or Archery.
- We have all licences required here at the lodge.
- We pre-bait our stands and have them ready for you.
- We make sure that your stand is active.
- Roughly 120 square miles of hunting area in total.
- We have 4 BMA and only 3 are used.
- There is a medical team that live here in Gowganda that are always on standby.
- We have a helicopter pad if needed.
2006 BEAR HUNT INFORMATION
- First week of hunting we had two hunters.
- They were both successful, we had very active bait sights for them.
- The first bear weighed in at 284lbs and the second at 160lbs.
- Second week of hunting we had one hunter.
- He saw plenty of bears and finally on the last night decided to make his move.
- His bear weighed in at 320lbs.
- Third week of hunting we had 5 hunters.
- One hunter was successful however all stands were active.
- 4 hunters were smoking and chewing tobacco - not the best way to hunt!
- The successful hunter did not have any tobacco near the stand, his bear weighed in at 181lbs.

2007 BLACK BEAR HUNT REPORT
FIRST WEEK ( 8 hunters):
Hunter #1(Bob) - 1st night - bait was hit when he arrived, rebaited and saw a sow with 4 cubs. He decided not to act. However, he got spooked from the agressiveness of the sow growling up at him in the stand while her cubs fed at the bait, that he decided to fish and enjoy the rest of his week instead. He is returning for a 2009 Bear Hunt.
Hunter #2(Terry) - 1st night - bait was hit, no sighting; 2nd night - bait was hit, no sighting; 3rd night obtained by riffle a 235lbs bore at 4:30 pm. The most beautiful coat and the most beautiful bear of the season. He is returning for the 2009 Bear Hunt.
Hunter #3(Jim) - 1st night - bait was hit, no sighting; 2nd night - bait was hit, heard russling through the bush near the bait sight, no sighting; 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th night - bait hit, no sighting; decided to stay one more night - obtained a 165lbs sow at 4:20pm
Hunter #4(Tim) - partner of hunter #3, same scenario as hunter #3, decided to stay one more night - obtained a 135lbs bear at 8:20 pm
Hunter #5(Paul) - 1st night - bait was hit, no sighting; 2nd night - at 7:30 pm, a 70 - 80 lbs bear decided to climb the ladder stand, started growling so the hunter acted due to his safety. He plans on a full mount for the bear. He is returning for the 2008 hunt.
Hunter #6 (Amos)- 1st night - saw a bear approx. 100lbs decided to wait; 2nd night - bait was hit, no sighting; 3rd night - bait was hit, no sighting; 4th night - bait was hit, no sighting; 5th day - obtained a 150 lbs bear.
Hunter #7(George) - 1st night - bait was hit, no sighting; 2nd night - bear entered the bait sight, the hunter raised his bow and shot the arrow, wounded the bear, could not retreive the bear; 3rd night - bait was hit, no sighting; 4th night - obtained a 185lbs bear by archery.
Hunter #8(Jon) - 1st night - bait was hit, no sighting; 2nd night - bait was hit, no sighting; 3rd night - obtain by archery a 300lbs bear. After the kill, the hunter was forced to remain in his stand while a sow and 3 cubs came into the stand area, and then a different sow with 1 cub and to follow another 3 bears. What an exciting night for our proud hunter! He is returning for our 2008 Bear Hunt.
SECOND WEEK ( 6 hunters)
Hunter #1(Tammy) - our first female hunter - 1st night - shot a bear, tracked the bear, could not find the bear; 2nd night - went fishing; 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th night - bait was hit, no sighting; 7th night - obtained a 210lbs bear with a beautiful coat, no need to track bear, excellent shot, dropped on the spot.
Hunter #2(Tom) - 1st night - bait was hit, no sighting; 2nd night - went fishing with hunter #1; 3rd night - bait was hit, no sighting; 4th night - got to the stand and bait pail had been hit and torn apart, had to replace pail; 5th night - obtained a 185lbs bear at 4:15pm; 6th night - sat in stand to watch bears, saw 6 bears in total - twin spring cubs, spring triplet cubs and they were chased out by a big bear.
Hunter #3(Adam) - 1st night - arrived too late to hunt; 2nd night - saw a huge bear, made a first shot, needed a second shot, tracked the bear for hours, lost the blood trail; 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th night - bait was hit, no sighting.
Hunter #4(Chris) - 1st night - arrived too late to hunt; 2nd night - saw a bear at 6:15pm until 6:45 pm about 150lbs, decided to wait; 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th night - bait was hit, no sighting; 7th night - saw trophy bear, shot twice, no blood trail to follow.
Hunter #5(Frank) (placed at an active stand that was never hunted before) 1st night - arrived too late to hunt; 2nd night - heard russling and trashing on an old bait sight nearby; 3rd night - bait was hit and down on the ground by his stand; 4th night - obtained an 80lb bear.
Hunter #6(Denis and Fraser) (father and young son team) - 1st night - didn't arrive; 2nd night - bait was hit, no sighting; 3rd night - watched a bear feeding for 20min., obtained the 155lbs bear.
THIRD WEEK (4 hunters):
Hunter #1(Tim) - 1st night - bait was hit, no sighting; 2nd night - bait was hit, no sighting; 3rd night - saw 2 bears, both approx. 100 - 110lbs; 4th night - bait was hit, saw 2 bears at bait, too small to obtained, noticed a third bear in the bush, it never came out; 5th night - close to dusk, saw a sow and cub, a bore in the bush tried to get rid of the sow and cub and couldn't and decided to wait, then a big bore came in breaking trees and chasing the sow, the cub ran up the bait tree, then a small bore came in and went to the bait bucket, the big bore scared the small bore away, the hunter was not able to get out of the stand until 11:20pm and still, the small bore was only 10 feet away from the stand; 6th night - bait was hit, no sighting; 7th night - obtain his bear after seeing 11 bears during his hunt.
Hunter #2(Doug) - 1st night - arrived too late to hunt; 2nd night - bait was not hit, no sighting; 3rd night - saw 2 bears; 4th night - bait was hit, obtained a 135lbs bear. He is returning for the 2008 Bear Hunt.
Hunter #3(Eric) - 1st night - arrived too late to hunt; 2nd night - bait was hit, saw a cub, then a second cub, some grouse, a snake and lots of squirrels; 3rd night - bait was hit, saw a cub; 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th night - bait was hit, no bear. He is returning for the 2008 Bear Hunt.
Hunter #4(Rob) (2 night hunt only) - 1st night - bait was hit, no sighting; 2nd night - bait was hit, no sighting.
We are fully booked for our 2008 Bear Hunt, however, we are taking bookings for our 2009 Bear Hunt with honoring our 2008 rates with a deposit before Oct. 31/08.
